Beach Street Records Signs John Waller
NASHVILLE, TN – Mark Miller, president of Beach Street Records, announces a new signing to the Beach Street label. Worship-leader John Waller will join the likes of Casting Crowns and Josh Bates.
Miller says, “Beach Street Records is all about music ministry and John Waller is a text book fit for the label. He is an incredible music talent and has an amazing heart for the Lord.”
Waller has a passion to create lyrics that resonate with people. Though his sound has a rocky edge, Miller says, “it’s very message driven…you don’t miss the point of what he’s singing about…We, in making,the record have let the music not get in the way of the message.”
Waller, whose single “The Blessing” has recently been released to radio says, “I like to learn the truth, the truth that sets me free, and then put it to song…that’s how it stays in people’s hearts.”
About three years ago, Waller began to see his dream of being a Christian artist become a closed chapter in his life. Enter Mark Hall. Hall heard Waller sing and knew he needed to pass on the music to Beach Street founder Mark Miller. “Words are so flippantly thrown around even in music, but especially just in our every day lives…[his music] is something that needs to be said, I’d be quick to jump on with a message like this,” Hall says.
Like labelmate Casting Crowns, Waller plans to stay committed to the local body of believers. He also plans to bring his family with him on tour, “though it might be difficult to tour with children it’s more difficult to be away from them.”
Waller’s debut album releases March 6.
